Allyson Walker joined WMBB in May of 2009 as a general assignment reporter after graduating Cum Laude from the University of Georgia. She holds a degree in broadcast news and a minor in music performance.
At UGA Allyson anchored, produced, and reported for Athens, Georgia’s only source for local news, Newsource 15 and reported WNEG-TV in Toccoa. Allyson was an active member of the UGA and Athens communities, serving as a goodwill ambassador for UGA as a member of The Arch Society, Zeta Tau Alpha, and was a Dawg Camp Counselor. She also performed as a soloist with both UGA Opera Ensemble and UGA Symphony Orchestra.
In the summer of 2008 Allyson interned for The Fox News Channel in Washington, DC. She was excited to work with eminent reporters in the nation’s capital city during an unprecedented period in history. She also helped Fox News with coverage on the controversial DC v. Heller gun ban case at the United States Supreme Court.
