The Dancing Begins

When I received the phone call about participating in a local dancing competition, I can’t tell you how excited I was!  I have always loved to dance and learn new things.  What makes this event special is the fact that we’re doing this for a good cause.  We’ll be performing our routines in January.  The money raised from ticket purchases will be given to our local American Cancer Society.  We’ll keep you posted on the event date.

The American Cancer Society is an organization that’s close to my heart.  I’ve been involved with Relay for Life since I was in college at the University of Georgia.  For the past two years, I have been the Event Chair for the Panama City Beach Relay for Life.  I lost my cousin Craig to Lymphoma when he was only 17.  I hope to one day say we have a cure for cancer so no other family will have to experience the pain that we experienced when we lost Craig.  With events like this and the community’s continued support, I know we will find a cure for cancer!  I hope you will become involved in the fight as well.

Check out the picture of Craig on this page.  He’s standing in front of his red truck.  He loved that truck and the University of Georgia.  I know he’ll be smiling down on me as I learn this dance routine!

I have a second dance practice later today.  We’ll be going over some more basic moves.  I’ll let you know how that goes.
