In honor of Presidents’ Day, Tyndall Elementary School students will gather around the campus flagpole at 7:45 a.m. on Friday, February 12, 2010.  Boy Scout Pack 388 from Panama City will raise the flag and the school chorus will lead the crowd in singing the National Anthem.  Students will join in the Pledge of Allegiance and Principal Libbie Pippin will share words of wisdom encouraging good character.

The 823rd RED HORSE Squadron, Detachment 1 from Tyndall Air Force Base will present students with more than 2,000 “Box Tops for Education,” a fundraising program designed by the General Mills Corporation to assist schools nationwide with their fundraising efforts.
”RED HORSE Squadron Staff Sgt. Tom Ryan has been instrumental in leading the drive to collect box tops,” said Mrs. Pippin.  “The Tyndall Base Exchange displayed a box in their lobby to aid in the collection, and the Thunderbird students appreciate Sergeant Ryan’s dedication”
Box tops are worth ten cents each as a donation to the school.  The Tyndall Parent Teacher Organization sponsors many projects on the elementary school campus with monies from the box top collection.
The Tyndall Rapid Engineer Deployable Heavy Operational Repair Squadron Engineers, Detachment 1, or RED HORSE Squadron is responsible for providing combat support training to civil engineer troops across the Department of Defense including active duty, National Guard, Reserve, plus other branches and even some foreign allies.

Everyone is invited to hear the patriotic voices of children honoring the heritage of the United States of America.
