Bay County, Fla:
The new Panama City-Bay County International Airport isn’t even open yet but already airport officials are looking past the May 2010 opening.
As crews work on 1,300 acres to build the new terminal, the Airport Board is asking contractor PBS&J to study a minimum of 1,400 additional acres surrounding the site. The Board hopes to use those acres for industrial development in the future.
Airport Executive Director Randy Curtis says the study should be complete in six months and cost approximately $480,000.
oh so now bay county is gonna try and get industry in here,,,what a shame they ran it off years ago when things were good,,,of course since they seem to have one of the worst work forces in the country i’m sure the mexican gov’t will love to send more here ,,,,thanks to our county commission, at least we will have low income housing for them ,,,it’s called beach condos
Good luck, but I dont think the new airport will make it any better than the old one till they can compete with prices of Pensacola and Tallahassee airports.

And only another $480,000 of our money. We never seem to be short of funds when it comes time to subsidise “free enterprise”. Weren’t impact studies done in the outset of this airport venture? $480 thou here and $480 thou there and pretty soon we are talking about real money. And the fleecing of the public continues on. Have a nice day!!!
