Arnold Theater Students Rate Superior

J.R. Arnold High School’s International Thespian Society received superior ratings at the Florida State International Thespian Festival held in Tampa, FL last week.  The International Thespian Society is an honorary organization for theatre students designed to honor student excellence in the theatre arts. Students competed among 46 other Florida high schools.  Fourteen Arnold High School students received straight superior ratings. 

In addition, Arnold students competed in seven individual events.  Arnold received one superior and three excellent ratings.  They competed among 245 Florida high schools involving 6,900 participants.

Arnold High School Thespian Troupe Sponsor Shannon Taylor said, “I am so proud of my students and their hard work.  Competing so well among the best in the state is validation for my students and inspires them to strive for excellence in all areas of their lives.”

Superior rated pieces included the following students:

One Act: Alex Schoeni, Kade Dalton, Nick Riveras, Keegan McClanahan, Emily Hankins, Rianna Deyo, Laura Linthicum, Bryan Izor, Garrett Poladian, Tia Faulkenberry, Thor Richardt, John Hamati, Katie Ramsey, Sean Libby

Solo Musical: Wade Pickrell

Excellent rated pieces included the following students:

Publicity Design: Sean Libby

Large Group Musical: Lindsey Arick, Ashlee Ballew, Dakota Bingaman, Julie Davis, Sarina DiCalogero, Tia Faulkenberry, India Gray, Emily Hankins, Amber Persilver, Jenna Reeves, Marie Rivera, Marie Smithwick, Katie O’Connor

Monologues:  Sarina DiCalogero

Other performances included the following students:

Duet Acting: Thor Richardt and Zac Pipkorn

Ensemble Acting: Kade Dalton, Alex Schoeni, Nick Riveras

Costume Design:  Marie Rivera (results unknown at time of release)
