A Bay County man faces attempted murder charges after an early Thursday morning altercation with family members.
The Bay County Sheriff’s Office say the incident started at 20426 Teaka Lane in Fountain around 3am.
Investigators say 32 year old Alexander Martin broke into the Teaka Lane home and poured what is believed to be muriatic acid on a bed, stole a 12 gauge shotgun and went outside and broke all the windows out of a parked vehicle.
Authorities say Martin then traveled to another Fountain home where his estranged wife lived. They say he pointed the shotgun at her head and threatened to kill her.
Martin pulled the trigger, but the weapon malfunctioned. Sheriff’s deputies say he then physically attacked the woman and stopped after her mother fired several shots into the air.
Martin fled the scene and was arrested a short while later. He faces charges of Armed Burglary, Grand Theft of a Firearm, Felony Criminal Mischief, Attempted Murder, Battery, Domestic Violence and Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding.
