Bay County, Fla:
It’s a $28,810 funding request the city needs in order to extend the Bay Town Trolley’s services to Saturdays. However, city staff recommends that the money to fund this expansion be taken from the unexpended balance that was appropriated by the City Commission from last year’s budget.
Extending its services to Saturday is only one plan the city has to expand the Trolley service.
It has already passed a $28,874 deal to extend trolley hours during the work week and is also considering transportation service to Panama City Beach during the summer tourist season. Collectively, the expansions will cost the city $62,693 and will go underway in 2009.
The City Commission will vote on the request to expand trolley services to Saturday at Tuesday night’s meeting. It will take place at Panama City City Hall at 4:00 p.m.
