The economy may be in a slump, but there were massive amounts of people out in the madness of Black Friday.
When it was still black outside, Black Friday was just beginning at 4 a.m. at Kohl’s Department store. People bundled up in the cold, as they wrapped around the building in anticipation to save the big bucks.
“We camped out… froze all night and had lots of hot coco,” said Black Friday shopper Misty Knobel.
At target, the doors opened at 5 a.m. People waited for more than 12 hours to get inside.
Misty and her brother Brian, sat outside target for 12 hours, but they say it was worth it to save $200 on a GPS Tom Tom.
Target managers say there were more than 500 people waiting outside before the store opened. While many of the shoppers waited hours outside, they turned around and waited hours in line inside.
But some are in it for the rush. “Running through the door the first 15 seconds definitely an adrenaline rush. And I got hit about three times in the back of the foot. People pushing people shoving… But we still got what we needed though,” said one Black Friday shopper.
But for others… It’s all about the savings.
Most of the doorbusters, like target’s $250 plasma tv were gone in an hour.
But most stores will continue on with their sales this weekend. So if you aren’t one to fight the crowds, there are still some good deals to be had.
