Bay County, Fla:
Northwest Florida Blood Services and Southeastern Community Blood Center, both divisions of Florida Blood Services, have partnered to better serve patients, families and friends who need blood in both Bay Medical Center and Gulf Coast Hospital. Blood Donors and friends may donate at Bay Medical Center Donor Room at 615 Bonita Avenue or stop by Northwest Florida Blood Services Center at 2696 Martin Luther King Boulevard/Hwy 77 in Panama City.
Both centers are promoting February as Donors are our Diamonds Month. Giving life to area patients in local hospitals is akin to being precious like diamonds. Blood donors making a donation at either blood center or at any of the blood drives throughout the month will be entered to win a weekly drawing of a pair of diamond earrings and be entered to win the Grand Prize, a beautiful 1 karet diamond ring. Special gift baskets donated by J C Penney University Mall Pensacola will be awarded to first and second place winners at the end of the month.
The centers are especially grateful for the support in thanking donors who volunteer their time and give the gift of life to J C Penney University Mall Pensacola. All blood donors will receive a free cholesterol screening with each donation.
There is an increased need for O Negative, B negative and A Positive blood types as requested by patient needs at our hospitals.
Blood Donors may donate on the bloodmobile,Wednesday, February 10, at the 2010 HEALTH EXPO located at the Edgewater Beach Resort between 10am and 6pm sponsored by the Panama City News Herald.
