Gulf County, Fla:
One person is dead after a boating accident tonight in Gulf County.
According to authorities, two people were in a boat on the Brothers River near Willis Landing around sunset when they hit a tree.
Both people went overboard. Authorities say 36-year-old Dennis Decker was pulled out of the water and is being treated for injuries at the Bay Medical Center.
The other boat passenger, 64-year-old Claude Hutchinson, was killed.
Authorities say neither of them was wearing a life jacket.
I must say I am severly offended with the integrity and empathy that was shown by WMBB in this situation. You were asked by the sheriff and the family members of all involved to please wait until we left, but you could not honor our wishes. There were 2 children involved with this accident and we needed to sheild them as much as possible as they had been through enough. But you had no interest but that of a story that you couldn’t even report correctly. I used to be an faithful watcher of your news broadcast but will no longer watch your station as after being involved and knowing you don’t report things correctly, I would never be able to beleave what you are reporting is the thruth. It really disgusts me!
