Boyd Votes Against Healthcare Bill

WASHINGTON, DC – Calling rising healthcare costs the single largest threat to our country’s economic future, Congressman Allen Boyd (D-North Florida) today expressed his intent to vote against the healthcare legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives and urged his colleagues to continue working toward a fiscally responsible bill that would lower insurance premiums for all Americans and drive down the overall cost of healthcare services.

“While the House bill does take some positive steps toward increasing coverage and reforming insurance regulations, it simply falls short when it comes to lowering healthcare costs for North Florida families and businesses,” said Congressman Boyd.  “Improving our healthcare system is of utmost importance to me, but meaningful reform must reduce the skyrocketing cost of healthcare services.  Until I have confidence that a healthcare reform bill will effectively curb rising healthcare costs and ease the burdensome pressure millions of Americans feel when paying their healthcare premiums or doctor bills, I cannot in good faith support this bill.”

The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office has indicated that the House bill does little to reduce the escalating cost of healthcare services, meaning that healthcare costs will continue to rise at unsustainable rates and insurance premiums will continue to plague hardworking Americans.

Congressman Boyd believes it is possible to meet the healthcare needs of Americans while at the same time reducing the cost of our healthcare services.  Responsible, affordable healthcare reform must increase coverage to more Americans; preserve patient choice; reduce the costs of medical procedures and services; and not add to our federal budget deficit.

“I have spent my years in public service working to improve access to quality, affordable healthcare for all Americans,” Boyd stated. “I voted to reauthorize the State Children’s Health Insurance Plan three times in the last two years.  I brought $17 billion to Florida to improve community health centers, veterans’ outpatient clinics, healthcare workforce training, and health IT initiatives through the federal stimulus package.  And I formed the District Healthcare Council in 2005 so our local communities can work together to improve healthcare in North Florida.”

Boyd concluded, “My vote against H.R. 3962, the House’s first attempt at a healthcare bill, is not a vote against responsible reform.  Rather, it is a signal that our work in Congress is not yet complete.  Reducing the cost of healthcare services must be the focus of any reform package, and I will continue working, as I’ve always done, to fix what’s wrong with our healthcare system, to continue what’s right, and to ensure Americans have access to affordable, quality coverage they need.”

protectfloridajobs.com, I can’t slam someone that I fully agree with.  We might not see eye to eye on many things but this one we do.  Nothing makes me any madder than to go into a store and be confronted by a bunch of people that sound like turkeys gobbling because they are either too lazy or too stupid to learn the language of the country they’ve invaded.  I keep hoping that we’ll one day get a congress and a president with ‘nads enough to send these people back to where they came from and open up our job market again.  Not to mention use our taxes for OUR people!  Sadly, many of the professional welfare recipients have been on the free ride for so long that any job would be insulting to them.

Thanks for comments guys, I thought people would slam me for that one, saying I was being to harsh. I’ve never taken a gov’t handout and the only way I’d ever let the gov’t pay anything for me is if I was layed up and couldn’t move. As long as I can move I’m working and paying my own way, to bad the rest of the country doesn’t have those same values.
I got another idea, I hope people will keep an open mind and understand I’m not anti-mexican, I’m just PRO American. Why don’t we crack down on illegal immigrants which will do two things, create more jobs and cut down on medical bills the gov’t has to pay for these illegals.
Ok by freeing up more jobs we can get people out of the unemployment lines and into a job. It may not be a great job, but it’s a job. I’ve traveled a lot to California, TX & FLA and these 3 states have a huge illegal immigration problem. Just think if we cleared out all illegal aliens we could put millions to work, even people on welfare can pick oranges & Tomatoes

its not a dream if we can boot these liberal jackazzes out!! get some real conservatives in there, not the type of PC republicans we have now but real conservatives, democratic, republican or even independant, as long as they will listen to who put them in office.

It could be made to work but everytime somebody tries to force these professional welfare handout people to do something to earn what they get you get every liberal bleeding heart, the NAACP, the ACLU and every other low-life raising cain to stop it.  I firmly believe if they don’t or won’t work for what they get then cut off the welfare spigot.  They get hungry enough they’ll find work.  The same goes for the drug users…fail a test and off you go!  But….*sigh*....it’s just a dream.

oldman and protectfljobs, those are some great ideas. too bad out elected officals dont have the berries to do anything like that. i say along with that idea, drug test them! if they fail send them to a public rehab, if they fail again its their own dumb azzed fault, kick em out. no more money for you! i think if these people were made to do things the hard way they would get off welfare and all other forms of govt handout/vote buying, and get a job, become a worthy part of society.

protectfloridajobs.com, to go along with what you are recommending, how about the attempt made several years ago by then Governor Reagan?  You are on the welfare free ride…you are offered a job and refuse…G’bye!  Do the same with this phony healthcare gig.  If you apply for it as a professional welfare bum, then you better take any job offered.  If not, G’bye!  I know the bleeding hearts and ACLU won’t like the idea but if these professional bums are going to continue to ride my tax dollar then sweeping streets or picking up trash or whatever can be found should be offered to them.  But forget the free ride they’ve had for years.

Posted by .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  11/19  at  09:59 AM

See your just as petty as me, I knew you couldn’t resist trying to get the last word in, your so easy to play. Just like oneforchange, what a coincidence that is something else you “two” have in common.

The only real problem with health care is the bums that are to lazy to go out and get a job so they can afford health care so hard working citizens like myself have to pick up the slack. That is what’s wrong with health care. If they’d just let the bums die and quit helping them continue to be bums then we’d have a stronger society. People would quit depending on the gov’t for a handout and get a job.

So you gonna continue this argument with a 12 year old?? My bet is yes, your like a drug addict you have to keep coming back for more.

You win, what are you 12. Officially ignored. Anyone else who cares about the state of health care can respond.

Posted by .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  11/18  at  09:12 PM

Well once again your babbling about something, what I have no idea. I’ve never spammed you or anyone else. I don’t send emails to people I don’t trust, like you for example.
As far as the moderator taking care of me, there is no need because I haven’t done anything wrong. If they banned everyone who called someone on here a name then there wouldn’t be many people left to post including you.
As for as anyone else calling you oneforchange, well no one is really responding to you period, and if they did and they went back and looked at the way you copy and paste and the wording you use they would also agree your oneforchange, “don”.
As for as you being through with this, I hardly think so, you’ll be back, and if your not then I win. Either way I win and you lose.

Posted by .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  11/18  at  06:46 PM

Well brad, every time you respond you are debating and since you are the only one that calls me oneforchange and you have a history of creating false accounts then you must be the low life that spammed me with the fling account another federal offense. As far as your attempt to insult me, lame. I am to old for your childish behavior and I hope the mods take care of you ASAP. I don’t even care to bother with you anymore. You are a petty person that works for a company with no integrity which shows with your behavior on this board. I wish you well in life when this bill passes but I doubt anyone would hire you.

I’m not debating you oneforchange/Don, because your views aren’t worth a hill a beans. I noticed you backed off when I told you to go ahead and turn me in to the authorities, and I haven’t heard you talking about your secret service buddies lately. Guess ya’ll haven’t had time to keep in touch lately huh.  As for the IP thing, oneforchange had at least 2 maybe 3 different IP address here and in Alabama so I don’t pay any attention to IP addresses. I do pay attention to patterns in speech and habits and I know who you really are “Donald”. I’m not saying that to try to scare you, just to let you know I’m smarter than you think, but I’m not going to debate that with you either.
Why should I come in here and debate health care? I could care less whether you and the rest of the bums that don’t work have health care. I work and whether it is with Salliemae or someone else it doesn’t matter. I work and pay for my insurance. I don’t BlTCH about gas prices either, because I have to have it.

Over 50% of the Bankruptcies in the US are caused by medical bills and over 80% of those filing, had health insurance! This is a fact!
This system of private insurers such as Blue Cross having basically a monopoly where they can rip-off everyone, even the government, using 30% of premiums collected just for administrative and advertising fees, so they can pay their CEO’s millions in salary and then bonuses for CUTTING COSTS(which equals cutting care), has to stop now!
We need a public or free choice option to compete with these scam artists and lower the costs and co-pays from these wothless crooks.
We, the American People( The Real Americans), ones who take care of their own and not foreigners, which Lindsey Graham,Joe Lieberman, and 100% of the Republicans, do not want! They instead, vote 100% to send your Billions, to Israel and the foreigners so they can have the best government health care for THEIR people, our money can buy! You have been duped by these republican crooks bigtime

Posted by retired one  on  11/16  at  10:29 AM

Finally you realize that you can’t debate with me. Not because you think I am oneforchange, because you debated with him with an obsession. You wont debate with me because you don’t have an intellegent response. On Sallie Mae anti-military practices you were silent because you know since you work for them. On health care you had no response because you only wanted to bash the president even though it was a Pelosi bill. You have no idea about the dire need to reform healthcare or how to debate retired one. Your only response was to try to label me as someone else. When I pointed out the fact that I didn’t match oneforchange ip address, silence. Don’t debate me please. I am not here to debate I am here to educate. That back and forth of you and oneforchange and retiredone ruins the usefullness of a forum like this. I am done playing. Peace out Brad, until you can have something usefull to say don’t respond to me again.

Posted by .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  11/16  at  09:15 AM

I tell you what don, if anything you think I said will get me arrested then go for it. Just the fact you know my past post regarding Salliemae and the Ed Bill situation proves you are oneforchange.  I really don’t care one way or the other, your about as scary as a teddy bear. Your hollow attempts to scare me have failed once again. Your fantasies seem to be escalating, you have friends in the secret service now huh, I guess your just a well connected fellow. I guess puffing on obama’s cigar gets you special privileges huh, so why don’t you and your buddy obama what ever name he goes by sit down and hack out a health care bill that will make you happy.
I guess you calling gator a lapdog is ok though right? Of course there is nothing wrong with name calling as long as it’s you doing the name calling.
Look no one here but retired one is going to debate with you because everyone knows your alter id, so if you want to keep trying then go right ahead. Keep posting twice everytime you post

Posted by .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  11/15  at  07:55 AM

What I did discover going through your old post is that you are a Sallie Mae employee that has a lot against oneforchange. As a matter of fact it looked like you two had a unhealthy obsession for one another.

Really Sallie Mae will survive. They started as a government run from 72 to 97, so what makes you think that the government can’t go back to student loans? Second they are a now a private company and they will survive, they just have to refocus the loans they give out or hire a CEO that can. Third this forum is about health care reform, good that you like yours. You can keep it. I like mine also, I just don’t like having to pay for people to go to the emergency room out of my money. I don’t like paying into a medicaid/Social Security system that I will not collect on. Kudos to Allen Boyd for voting against this bill, now he needs work a new one bill.

Gator your like Brads lapdog, chiming in with your two cents, get your on ideas.

You complained about the health care plan, Slander is saying untrue things or claims as factual. You made claims about retiredone, Obama. Just the fact that you said I was a 46 year old pimp was Slander. This said to retired one “Ok it has now been confirmed retired one is on drugs. You lie through your frickin teeth. You were never in the military and all that grandpa stuff was BULLSHlT” slander. You implied Obama was a “raghead” Another post from you “the only time I will ever stand up for Obama is so I can put my foot up his (explicative) and break it off” Sounds like a threat. “The only thing obama is ever gonna be worth is worm food!!!”
I have a secret service friend who said this could be investigated as threats against the president and if you posted that under Bush it probably would have.

Posted by .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  11/15  at  12:59 AM

Yep your right gator, that is so obvious to me and anyone else who has been on this board before and read the post of this person.

I’m an annalist, that is what I do I analyze things and spot trends. So it was quite easy to spot this one.

I don’t think anyone other than retired one really cares what Don(oneforchange) has to say.

Posted by .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  11/15  at  12:56 AM

if it has feathers like a duck, quacks like a duck, and looks like a duck, then guess what? its prob a duck!!

Posted by .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  11/14  at  10:49 PM

First of all if you banned everyone here who hates obama then the only two left would be you and retired one. As for as “slanderous things against the law” I have no idea what your talking about. I respect the law, I just don’t respect obama, which isn’t against the law.

No I’m not a 24 year old from Atlanta, just like you aren’t a black 46 year old that dresses in a white pimp suit.

Second thing, only two people on this message board have used the term “anti-military company” and that is you and oneforchange. Also the copying and pasting is identical to the kind oneforchange did. So if you want to put it to a vote and see if more people believe you are oneforchange than believe you aren’t then I say game on!! You will lose.

Thirdly, I haven’t complained about healthcare, you have. I’m fine with my healthcare, I said it could use a little tweak, but I’m not dissatisfied with my healthcare. So you can keep trying to convince people your not oneforchange, but I doubt you’ll do it.

Posted by .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  11/14  at  09:46 PM

So Brad tries so hard to associate me with someone else and tries to say I look like a pimp, what are 12?

“By registering at this site you agree not to post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, or that violate any laws. We will permanently ban all users who do so”

Along with saying he hates the president and the slanderous things he said, “against the law”. I think he should be banned according to what is above.

The funny thing is when I laid down the gauntlet of healthcare reform all he could do is say I was someone else and brought up Sallie Mae, a debate he lost already because he works their and knows what they do to military. Now he complains about health care with no solution of his own. You are here to stir up trouble, I am here to educate. Sign of a trouble maker is one that calls names; so immature. Do not complain if you don’t have a solution to the problem or recognize the problem to begin with. Respond with a proposal or hush.

Posted by .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  11/14  at  04:41 PM

My “Brad” you are dumb and paranoid. Oneforchange did a number on you. You are as stupid as you sound if you don’t know the technology they use to ban people. So I don’t care about Floridian trust I am pro-US and Pro-military which is about American trust. I am inclusive and independent not a ditto head like yourself. I debate both parties and applaud right decisions and great ideas. Sallie Mae is anti-military and you are paranoid. Unless you have proof that your anit-military company has changed it’s was your defense of them falls on deaf ears. The only person debating is you and retired one with your alternate screen name gator patching in.  I don’t have time for someone who calls my president names and emboldens terrorist to even take you seriously. On on blog you say Obama is racist because of his church then you call him Muslim. Sometimes I believe that you can’t be from Atlanta and are 24 Brad. Be a man and don’t debate me like you said.

Posted by .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  11/14  at  04:31 PM

I thought they banned you oneforchange(Don). You had what about 5 screen names, even tried to impersonate me. So what makes you think anyone will believe anything you say now? Your copying and pasting is a dead give away. Also your wording and specific phrases are identical. You need to go back and look at some of the phrasing you used with oneforchange and use different wording with your alter screen name “Don”. It really doesn’t matter because everyone knows your the same person. No one is going to debate anything with you because you are a fraud & an obamanite.

You look to much like a pimp for anyone to take you seriously, besides all the stuff you did back when Sallie Mae was trying to rally support to save Florida Jobs.

So now your stirring up trouble and using health care reform as your excuse. Well don’t look for anyone to take you seriously. Whether you say your against the bill or not you violated the trust of your fellow Floridians by telling us you hoped we lost our jobs.

Posted by .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  11/14  at  02:55 PM

Without reform, no employer will be able to pay the projected $25,000-$30,000, for a Blue Cross Family Health Plan. This is what it will cost as projected by the CBO.
All employers will cancel your health benefits as too costly. It’s ridiculous.
We need a Free Choice Option, now, to compete with these scumbag insurance rip-off companies no matter what to bring the prices down. Without real competetion, the Blue Cross and other rip-off artists wil continue as usual until they have robbed and destroyed every citizen, employer, and the Federal Government.
If you think Blue Cross will do it on it’s own, without government intervention, your a real idiot.
You need to back your President and the MAJORITY on this one! It’s the right moral thing to do.
We waste enough on the nerds sending billions into space every year, playing with their new toys and you think that is right?
Americans need to take care of their own, here at home. If you are against that, then you are also an idiot.

Posted by retired one  on  11/14  at  12:10 PM

Protectflorida jobs Sallie Mae was not trying to rally to protect Florida jobs it was trying to save it’s own company. I have been all over this country and as a matter of fact this world so I don’t see anything from a selfish point of view. What point is government money given to Sallie Mae when they have anti military practices. It’s like supporting the 4 mosque the government just shut down so they won’t lose the 400 jobs that they had. I support the airport, I support the new airport, the buildup of Tyndall, the beach concerts, but I will not support any organization that I have witness do harm to capability of the US military to execute its duty now matter how many jobs get lost. Sorry, but Sallie Mae can survive without the government and with proper health care reform they will be in a better position to expand since Sallie Mae pays 80% of its employees health care cost. It’s a fact that companies like people do best when they fully compete without government handouts.

Oh wow Brad I hope that wasn’t aimed at me. If you had any knowledge or common sense you would know that an email address doesn’t equal an ip address and oneforchange was banned. You would also know from my post that I don’t remotely share the views of oneforchange except with the anti-military crooks at Sallie Mae.

Now getting back to the Bill at hand. We need to not only support Boyd even if his reasons are money based on this and the FDA Oyster ban. We need states rights health care reform. We need to take away the child tax credit which was used as a stimulus turned entitlement and buy heath care for the poor. We need to reform medicaid and make it lean like tricare for the military. We need to be able to purchase out of state insurance and we need some type of tarp reform. Go to http://boyd.house.gov/ and give him your idea for health care reform. The industry is broke and our jobs are sailing overseas because of it. I have submitted my ideas to Boyd now its your turn.
