Multiple areas of Bay County are experiencing brush fires.
On Panama City Beach, a large brush fire near the Hombre Golf Club has caused officials to close some roads.
The Sheriff’s Department tells News 13 that Moylan Road is closed from Panama City Beach Parkway all the way to Front Beach Road.
Hombre Circle is also closed by Panama City Police at this time.
At last report, the brush fire was 100 ft. by 100 ft. but officials believe it is now larger.
Drivers are urged to use caution and avoid this area if possible.
Officials are taking precautions because the fire is approaching residences.
Some people have left their homes but there is not a mandatory evacuation at this time.
Fire officials have cut a fire break around the entire perimeter of the fire. They hope that will contain the fire.
The fire is moving northeast at this time, spreading between Hombre Circle and St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
Another fire in Callaway at Callaway Heights is said to be under control at this time.
