The following was released Monday by the Chipley Police Department:
PRESS RELEASE
The Chipley Police Department reports several drug arrest made recently. Chief Crews states that two Shalimar, Florida men made the mistake of coming to Chipley in order to obtain controlled substances with fraudulent prescriptions. Arrested was Curtis Bischer and James Kyle Herrington of Shalimar, Florida. Bischer was charged with attempting to obtain a controlled substance by fraud and violation of probation on a possession of controlled substance charge. Herrington was charged with possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Crews states that “these people seem to think that they can come to these smaller rural towns and do their dirty work. What they don’t count on is that many of our citizens are aware and watching for illegal activity and won’t hesitate to report suspicious activity”.
Also arrested was Hunter Fletcher of Cane Mill Road, Chipley and Robert Clements of Alford, Florida. Fletcher was arrested after officers located Marijuana and Glass Pipes used to ingest Marijuana. Fletcher was charged with possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Clements was arrested when a routine traffic stop revealed marijuana in Clements vehicle. Clements was arrested for possession of marijuana and transported to the Washington County Jail.
Chief Crews again ask for the people to continue to call in their tips to 638-6310.
