As unemployment rates increase and the economy continues to decline, many turn to faith to pull them through. One area church is telling their members to take a stand, and sell.
It’s not uncommon to see a church yard sale raising money for charity or for their foundation, but residents flocked to the yard of Lynn Haven Methodist Church Saturday to buy and sell goods to raise money for themselves.
About 40 families from the congregation contributed, attracting several hundred shoppers eager to add to their income. The event is all part of a recent lesson from their pastor Doug Pennington.
“The idea is to allow people to raise some funds to help them and their own families,” he said.
They will be hosting another yard sale Saturday, December 6th at 8a.m.
