Panama City, Fla:

Civil Rights leader and U.S Congressman John Lewis (D)-GA is taking time for Panama City residents Saturday evening.  He’s telling them to step into action and volunteer for Presidential Candidate Barak Obama’s campaign.

“If someone had told me 45 years ago that we would be where we are today I’d say you’re crazy, you’re out of your mind, you don’t know what you’re talking about,” said Lewis.

It was a packed house in the Obama Campaign Headquarters on Harrison Ave as residents gathered to hear stories of Lewis’ personal fight for Civil Rights and reasons he’s voting for Obama.  Lewis will continue traveling to neighboring states to spread his message and recruit volunteers to help campaign.

“The people are up,” said Lewis, “They’re fired up and they’re ready to go out and organize and mobilize the state and get people to turn out and vote like they’ve never voted before.”

Lewis went on to meet with area church leaders to discuss Obama’s faith-based initiatives.
