Wayne and Ingrid Andrews, with their company Andina Inc., filed a four-count civil lawsuit July 25.  The couple says the city has been using special magistrates who have not been approved in a public meeting as required by law and therefore have been holding illegal Code Enforcement hearings.

The residents say they want the city to void all orders issued in those hearings.  They’re also asking for damages.  The couple says about 100 people will accompany them in speaking at the city commission meeting Tuesday.

The Andrews have been fighting the city since February 2007, after being fined $210,000 for cutting down trees on their property.  The fine was eventually reduced to $90,000.  The Andrews say they were told cutting down the trees was ok.

I hope that this couple wins big time.  I am tired of the little guys always being pushed around.
