If you watch one of those popular crime solving shows on TV, you know law enforcement goes through a lot to solve a crime. But you also know it takes more time in real life.

Solving crime takes time, from misdemeanors to felonies, law enforcement puts in a lot of time and effort to bring bad guys to justice. The Criminal Investigations Division at the Bay County Sheriff’s Office works daily to catch criminals. The 17 investigators work all felony crimes that come through Bay County.

The CID is commanded by Capt. Jimmy Stanford. He says the unit even has an on call investigator 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. But every case is different. Some are solved in days, while others take weeks or months.
