Governor Charlie Crist’s state plane was forced to make an emergency landing today.

The governor boarded the plane in Tallahassee this morning for planned flights to Bushnell for a Veterans Day ceremony and then another to Miami.

But on the flight to Miami, the governor’s plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Sarasota because of mechanical difficulties. Details are not yet available.

The plane was serviced for a generator malfunction last week.

Governor Crist was headed to a press conference at the Marjory Stoneman Douglass House in Miami for an announcement on a revised deal with U.S. Sugar.

The state of Florida has agreed to pay U.S. Sugar $1.34 billion instead of the $1.75 billion originally proposed for 185,000 acres of sugar fields.

The announcement has been rescheduled for Wednesday.
