Bay County, Fla:
A man wanted in Bay County in connection to the slaying of an exotic deer February 16, 2009, was taken into custody today in Jackson County. Information was received by law enforcement that led to Ronald R. Enfinger, DOB 2/12/60, a suspect in the BCSO case that involved the killing of an Axis Deer in Fountain.
Warrants on Enfinger included Grand Theft, Trespassing by Lethal Projectile and Resisting Without Violence and Violation of Parole on a charge of Homicide. Enfinger had a previous arrest and conviction of homicide in Wyoming and was considered armed and dangerous by law enforcement.
Enfinger was located in Jackson County by the Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force and is currently being held in the Jackson County Jail. The Task Force is made up of the US Marshalls, the Bay County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies in the region.
After Enfinger was transported to the Jackson County Jail in a marked Jackson County Sheriff’s Office patrol car, the US Marshalls and BCSO investigators in unmarked cars left to return to Bay County. As the marked US Marshalls’ car passed a convenience store, a black pick up truck pulled out behind it, driving very close to the US Marshalls’ car. There were two men in the pick up truck that were recognized as a brother and nephew of Enfinger, the suspect. Ronald Enfinger ( same name but brother of the suspect) and his son Brent Enfinger chased the US Marshall’s car at a high speed and honked the horn of their vehicle, screaming expletives at the US Marshalls, unaware they had BCSO investigators in an unmarked car behind them. Due to the violent nature of past encounters with the two men, the US Marshalls and BCSO investigators waited until they entered Bay County and had additional back up deputies waiting before stopping and taking the two men into custody.
Brent Allen Enfinger, DOB 10/25/83, of 6914 E. Hwy 388, Youngstown, was charged with Corruption by Threat Against a Public Servant. Brent Enfinger told investigators he knew the US Marshalls had his uncle and his intent was to help him. Also arrested was the brother of suspect Enfinger, also known as Ronald Ralph Enfinger, DOB 8/28/64, of 6914 E. Hwy. 388, Youngstown, on a charge of Willful and Wanton Reckless Driving.
