Tallahassee, Fla:
MIAMI (AP) - Gov. Charlie Crist said a bad seal on one of his plane’s doors caused the aircraft to make an emergency landing in southwest Florida.
Crist was flying from Bushnell to Miami on Tuesday for a press conference on the Everglades when his plane made an emergency landing in Sarasota.
Crist said he initially heard an “odd sound” and brought the noise to the attention of the pilots.
“I wasn’t really ever that nervous,” Crist said Wednesday. “I said ‘might be a good idea to land.”’
This isn’t the first time Crist has had a plane scare. In 2006 when he was campaigning to become governor his plane was forced to land after one of the plane’s two engines stopped.
