The Downtown Improvement Board is busy preparing for the annual downtown fireworks display coming up on Saturday. And there’s much more than fireworks on tap.

This year’s event is title “Salute to Freedom ... Centennial Big Splash’’ as we celebrate the Fourth and Panama City’s 100th birthday.

The Marina Civic Center will be the site for all sorts of entertainment including a kids activities area and dozens of vendors. And of course, a tremendous fireworks display on Saturday night, which DIB Director Dutch Sanger promises will be bigger and better than ever.
