It’s a day to give thanks to those who gave so much.
“It’s a great day,” said veteran, Charles L. Harris.
From the fancy floats, to the sounds of sirens, downtown Panama City honored Veterans Day in style.
“I served 23 years and it’s good to know that the people back home appreciate the service that I did for the country,” said Army veteran, Tony Armstead.
The military marched, bands played battle hymns and cars cruised the streets in support of soldiers.
“This community does a fantastic job supporting the current military as well as the veterans,” said veteran Bob Wynn.
As the celebration continued, people took the time to reflect.
“We need to stay behind them people from now until the rest of the year,” said Alto Carroll.
A memorial tribute, tugged on the heart strings of those who stood on the front lines.
“i think it’s a great thing,” said veteran Vincent Volp.
As we all remember, veterans appreciate the respect.
“It’s good when you are at 82 years old and someone comes and shakes your hand and thanks you for being in the war,” said Harris.
They gave us the gift of freedom and we salute veterans for their service.
