According to Capt. Ken Paramore of FWC, a shrimp boat capsized around 3 a.m. this morning off the Port of Panama City, near an area known locally as Bird Island.

Blountstown, Fla:
A child sustains only minor injuries after being hit by a car in Calhoun County.
Blountstown Police say a vehicle hit a dog on State Road 71 South this afternoon. When some children ran into the road to get the dog, police say one of the children was hit by a truck. The nine-year-old boy was taken to the hospital. Police say the boy suffered only a few abrasions.
Witnesses describe the vehicle as a light-colored pick up truck. They say the driver was a black male between 30 and 40 years-old and 200 to 260 pounds.
