Port St. Joe, Fla:

Authorities have new information in a three year old murder case.

22 year old Random Matthew Jackson of Wewahitchka faces an open count of murder for 19 year old Justin Jay Curcie’s death.  Investigators served the arrest warrant at the Washington County Correctional Institute where Jackson is being held on unrelated charges.  Justin Curcie was last seen alive on June 27, 2005.  His remains were found in a wooded area near Wewahitchka on September 12, 2005.  Investigators say evidence shows he died a violent death, but aren’t giving out a lot of details.

For three years Justin Curcie’s family has wrestled with unanswered questions about his death, questions they hope will be resolved now that investigators have made an arrest in the case.  Curcie’s mother Peggy Carter, who now lives outside of the State, says her son knew Random Jackson.

“It floors me that a friend would do this to another friend, so obviously they weren’t that friendly.  I’m very, very angry at Random Jackson.  I’m angry that he felt like he could play God with my son’s life,” said Carter.

Carter says her son made friends easily and laughed a lot.  It’s hard for her to think of the future he no longer has.

“Everything that he could possibly ever accomplish, anything he could have done throughout his life is gone.  It’s no longer there.  It’s no longer an option.  That’s not fair.”

For Curcie’s family this arrest is a step toward peace of mind.

“It is bitter sweet because it opens up this whole wound all over again.  Although it’s just been scabbed over for the past three years, the scab is now ripped off and hopefully the healing can begin.”

Random Jackson appeared in court on Wednesday in front of Judge Fred Witten in Gulf County.  Jackson is now being held without bond in the murder case and was transported back to the Washington County Correctional Institute.  Gulf County Sheriff Joe Nugent tells News13 a grand jury will meet on the case in the next few weeks.

treynese,
First this is posted in the wrong forum, this thread is about a local murder case and has nothing to do with what you are talking about. Hopefully your testimony is more solid than your perception of where to post. Second, to label all military by the actions of one is very narrow minded and for a “prior service member” out of line.  Third, every civilian thinks they can run to the base and get military in trouble for off base actions is wrong to begin with.  If you have a problem call the Police like everyone else.

Hi on Monday 8 September I was traveling home with my two small children when a female Air Force member ran me off the road and head on into the path of an semi-trailer. I attempted to reach the service member only to given the finger and several verbal racial slurs. I was able to see her husband the next day who basically told me to get over it.
Both my spouse and I are veterans and bring 30 years of service to the table. I am wandering in this great country is this what our service members have to offer.
When I contacted some on base to possibly try to locate this lady, I was basically told to get on with my life I was wasting time that could have been used for something more worthwhile.
I want to thank the rude and aggressive military members who have fallen into the ideals of other “locals” . They are just what this country needs. With our tax dollars at work and their attempts to show you just what they are made of. They are above asking, “Are you okay” and saying I’m sorry

He is still innocent until proven guilty, Ms. Carter might be very, very angry at the wrong person.  It seems the only one who has something to gain with this is Mr. Joe Nugent.  Hope your election goes well, I am concerned about a person that uses other peoples lives to benefit themselves.  I hope the citizens of Gulf County really see what is really happening here.
