Authorities arrest the gunman they believe killed a Bay County man this weekend.

Investigators with the Bay County Sheriff’s Office arrested 19 year old James David Thompson Tuesday morning.  He’s charged with an open count of murder and attempted murder.  A two day search is over.  The man authorities say killed Bill Weed’s brother is behind bars.  “No human being deserves what happened to him in his own home,” Weed said.

James David Thompson 19, is accused of killing 42 year old Steven Lewis Weed.  Authorities say Thompson fled the scene with his 17 year old girlfriend Kristin Weathers and her 18 month old baby.

Authorities arrested weathers Monday at Pier Park and turned her child over to the department of children and families.  Sheriff Frank McKeithen says Thompson was part of a gang called the “Crazy White Boys”, and members helped him hide out.

“There was a lot of assistance and a lot of help from their brother and sister gang members,” McKeithen said.

Michael Anthony Flesch 21, and Ashley Nicole Freeman 19, are under arrest for allegedly driving Thompson to a motel after the shooting.  Upon checking known gang members, authorities also arrested Lori Lynn Miller, on cocaine charges and child neglect.

“3 year-old baby found in the residence with the weapons and the drugs,” McKeithen said.

McKeithen says investigators found Thompson hiding in Jacqueline Danielle Wagenheim’s home.

“We found him hiding in a closet with his hands behind his head like the coward he is.”

McKeithen says Thompson is being interviewed by authorities.  Weed’s family is now hoping for closure.

“I want to see him get the death penalty.  He took from me something I’ll never get back, and he deserves that.”

A total of nine people were arrested in this investigation.  Sheriff McKeithen says some were drug dealers, not all of them, members of the Crazy White Boys.  McKeithen says the investigation is ongoing and expects more arrests in the near future.
