Tallahassee, Fla:

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - A bill setting statewide guidelines for the use of automatic cameras to fine motorists who run red lights
has passed in the House.

The measure (SB 325) received the green light Friday by a 77-33 vote. It would authorize the cameras that dozens of cities have already installed on questionable legal authority. Violators would be fined $158.

The bill is named for 30-year-old Mark Wandall, who was killed near Bradenton by a red-light runner in 2003. His wife, Melissa, was eight months pregnant with their first child.

It now goes to the Senate where a similar bill (SB 2166) is set for a vote next week.

There’s no such thing as innocent until proven guilty. That’s a buzz phrase that everyone talks about because it’s politically correct to do so - it’s a nice idea, but not reality.

You could teach me some? Relativity? Let’s do it Gator! Let’s put our credentials on the table. I’m not scared. Are you?

You’re correct, forrest. Kinda like stopping you for illegal tint. They can pull you over ASSUMING your tint is illegal but don’t really know if it is or not until they put the meter on it. So they get a free shot to pull you over, look in your car since you have to roll down your window and your tint could be perfectly legal. That’s not right.

Getting back on track of the subject matter here… What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty? With this bill you are guilty until proven innocent. To bad the courts couldnt convict & pass sentence as fast as this bill is going to fine motorists that run a light.

Good try gator…you’re backpedaling now. There’s no relationship. You never compared him to someone on the state level that has smiled and lied. Basically, you’re full of it.

If we were both engineers in different companies, people can’t blame me for your mistake. But to be an engineer, you have to be trained to analyze. I don’t see where you’ve reasonably analyzed anything.

What’s done in state is in state. Boyd may have mistakes. But others do too. This is Patronis’ territory for state issues. If you can’t admit that, then the bufoon may be the one you see in the mirror.

PS…try to post some facts..or a reasonable opinion. If not, don’t expect me to post on this issue again. Debating one with a closed mind is a wasted effort.

nice to see you agree with me buffoon(sorry about the before spelling, figured I better straighten that out before you try and slam spelling)I was showing the disconnect between ALL elected officals, BODY is the most recent elected offical to betray the american public, blatantly obvious, he came here and lied, smiled at bay county and said Im here for you, LIE, how can you defend his actions? the people that sent him to office told him by 70% told him to vote no on health care, but he didnt care. he worked out a deal with Pelosi so that when he loses his job she will get him a job in the ag dept. he is pathetic, and anyone that votes or defends him is the same!

Gator, I sure would be concerned for people that aren’t concerned with me…that yell and scream everytime I try to talk.  Most of Bay County doesn’t even vote and those that do vote against him. Try to have an intelligent debate instead of calling people you don’t agree with names. Stay focused and on topic. This legislature is state locally and has nothing to do with Boyd. Your attempt is to cloud the issue by bringing up Boyd so you can “preach to your choir”. I’m not defending anyone. I just want you to place blame where it is due. In Tallahassee, not DC. Blame Patronis instead.
            Sincerely, bafoon

jday, he should be concerned about what happens here in panama city, this IS his district? and the reason that I called this bafoon out, is because of sallie mae, he went to their facility here in lynn haven, lied to them, smiled at them, told them im here for you. LIE!!! ill take it since your defending this waste of skin, you one of the misguided (bafoonic) people. and when I stated the govt, jerks, I figured the people reading this would be smart enough to know that the majority that voted for this camera bill were rupublican, but i sure as heck would bet that some that voted for it were democrat. but the democrats have the biggest taxer and spender in the highest office, for now, what a disgrace to this great country, I just hope the next president can repeal and fix all his screw-ups. if it is a republican he sure as hell wont blame Odumba for almost 2 years.

Why you call out Boyd, gator? Scared to blame this on your conservative boys in Tally? Boyd in DC. And like most issues here in Bay County, since you don’t support him, he couldn’t care less about what goes on here.

your right, this just make us, the normal citizens, not trust any part of the govt. they will lie to you, look you in the face, smile and show alot of teeth, then turn-coat and do the exact opposite of what they tell you they are going to do. proof is alan boyd, anyone that is stupid enough to vote for this bafoon should be hung up bytheir toe-nails. or better yet make it to where they can ever vote again. the govt seems to need to have a wake up call, they cant fine us to death, they have taken, by taxes, almost eveything we have, now the jerks want more by the traffic cams, TOTAL BS!!!

Posted by .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  04/24  at  04:44 PM

When they installed the cameras, they insisted over and over again that they were there ONLY for monitoring traffic (not that they did that either) and that they would not be used to “spy” on the public. That is in print and in the archives - there is proof.

But this is the way government works. They inch into your lives with something that is supposed to be good for the public and then they seize the opportunity to take over, because they’re in - and the citizens can’t do a thing about it at that point because permission was given.

No to red light automatic cameras to fine motorists the next thing they would want is cameras your house so they can fine you for not cutting your grass.
