Fever, headaches, aches and upset stomach can be signs of the dreaded flu. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or CDC says the flu reaches a peak at the beginning of the year and “36,000 people die from flu” each year. The flu survellience map from the CDC shows no or sporadic activity in much of the Southeast, but Florida does show signs of an increase in flu activity.
The number one recommendation from medical experts is to get vaccinated each year. Eating healthy and getting plenty of rest will help build your immune system. The CDC recommends other ways to stay safe. Click here for more information.
Maps featured in above video are from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and google.org, Google Flu Trends.
