Florida State University’s Panama City campus has its work cut out for it after a volunteer board of community leaders, the Blue Ribbon Commission, announced its recommendations to make the campus self sufficient.

During their last official meeting, the commission approved their recommendations to keep the campus open.  Their first priority is enrollment increase.
In a bound presentation they make specific goals like forming a stronger partnership with Gulf Coast Community College, and striving to get their programs accredited.

The 27-member group of volunteers says now the rest is up to FSU leaders to make sure their recommendations are carried out.

“What I’m going to do is to keep this Blue Ribbon Committee report on my desk,” said FSU-PC Dean Dr. Ken Shaw, “It’s going to be the road map that all of us follow here on this campus.”

The commission will re-group in about 6 months to check on progress.
