The Gulf Coast Triathlon is giving back to the community again.
The non-profit foundation donated more the 25,000 dollars the Bay County community today in a presentation at Frank Brown Park.
The Gulf Coast Triathlon aims to support youth organizations promoting sport, fitness and healthy lifestyles.
Over the past nine years, GCT has donated more than 300,000 dollars to the local community.
Several of the charities the triathlon support are the PCMI, PC swim team, Bay County sheriff’s office, PCB Cops n’ Kids, Friends of St. Andrews State Park and Bay County Surf and Rescue.
The triathlon also gave small contributions to other non-profit community organizations.
“Giving back to the Bay County Community, which has given so much to us and the race is why we do this every year. We put in the long hours race week and race day, just so we can give back. It means so much to us that we live, we work and we play in the Bay County community. We are just so thankful that we have the opportunity to give back,” said interim race director Elizabeth Whitton.
