Bay County, Fla:
The Bay County Health Department has scheduled two H1N1 Flu vaccination clinics for persons 24 years of age and younger.
The clinics will be held on Monday, November 16 from 5pm to 8pm and Saturday, November 21 from 9am to 12pm at the health department at 597 W. 11th Street.
Persons under 18 will need to be accompanied by their parent or guardian or bring a signed, completed consent form to receive the vaccination. The consent form and Vaccination Information Sheets can be found at our website at www.baycountyhealth.org. The H1N1 Flu vaccination is free and voluntary.
“We are continuing to offer vaccine first to people who are in high risk groups as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. People in these groups - pregnant women, children, young adults up to age 24, and adults ages 25-64 with underlying health conditions - are at highest risk of developing serious complications from H1N1 Flu.” said Dr. Dennis Cookro, Acting Director for the Bay County Health Department. “We are addressing each priority group as best we can with the limited supply of vaccine, and anticipate having enough vaccine in the future for everyone wishing to receive it. As we receive more vaccine, we will be able to expand availability until we can offer the vaccine to the general public. We appreciate the community’s cooperation and patience as we work to distribute the vaccine” stated Cookro.
