Bay County, Fla:
The Bay County Health Department has scheduled a H1N1 Flu vaccination clinic on Saturday, November 21 from 9am to 12pm at the health department at 597 W. 11th Street. This clinic is for persons 24 years of age and younger and adults 24-65 with a chronic illness. Because of the production delays and limited supply of vaccine, this clinic will be limited to 800 vaccine doses.
Persons under 18 will need to be accompanied by their parent or guardian or bring a signed, completed consent form to receive the vaccination. The consent form and Vaccination Information Sheets can be found at our website at www.baycountyhealth.org. The H1N1 Flu vaccination is free and voluntary.
“We are addressing each priority group as best we can with our limited supply of vaccine. As we receive more vaccine, we will be able to expand availability until we can offer the vaccine to the general public. We appreciate the community’s cooperation and patience as we work to distribute the vaccine” stated Dr. Dennis Cookro, Acting Director of the Bay County Health Department.
There are no school located H1N1 Flu clinics scheduled for November 23-27 due to the Thanksgiving holidays. The next scheduled school located clinics are November 30 at Cherry Street and Oakland Terrace Elementary Schools and December 1 at Mosley High School.
Fighting H1N1 Flu is a three-step approach: 1) get a vaccination, 2) practice everyday prevention (including frequent hand washing, covering coughs and sneezes and staying home when sick), and 3) use antiviral drugs correctly if your health professional recommends them.
