Bay County, Fla:
Hancock Bank churns out checks as it transitions into the community. The business, that bought out locally owned People’s First, plans to carry on charitable traditions.
“We feel like we have a responsibility to help the community and the nonprofit organizations here,” said Hancock Bank Market Leader, David Powell.
This holiday season, the bank dished out dough through donations. $5,000 went to the Salvation Army and an additional $5,000 went to Early Education and Care.
“We really appreciate how much that Hancock is doing for all of the citizens in Bay County,” said donation recipient, Pam Fleege.
The decision to give to these particular charities is not based on chance. It’s an effort to emulate People’s First. The formerly family owned bank donated to these groups in years past.
“They’ll carry on those traditions and that’s important,” said Fleege.
Though the old and new banks have similar core values, Hancock works to find a fresh local identity. Regardless of changes, management believes customers will not notice a difference in service.
“Our tellers in our branches are now serving the customers in the same way that we’ve been serving them for the past 26 years,” said Powell.
As the tradition carries on, Hancock promises added promotions in the new year.
