Deane Bozeman high school students are making their voice heard. 66 Deane Bozeman seniors took a class trip to the polls where around 25 registered voters cast their ballot.
The students say it was beneficial to them to visit the polls as a class.
“I’m glad I went with my class,” Meagan Poston, a Deane Bozeman senior, says, “And I’m glad our class took the time and studied it and took everything piece by piece.”
Several students have gotten so involved they are volunteering with the parties.
“I volunteer because I feel it’s really important to inform people about the candidates they’re electing,” explains Ashleigh Childs, also a senior, “Because our voice needs to be heard and although I’m not yet eligible to vote I think it’s my responsibility to inform other people anyone who will listen.”
The students say they are even teaching their parents a thing or two about voting.
Meagan Poston – “I was talking to my mom and she registered when she was 33 to vote,” Poston says. “I was like, oh, well I’m 18, and it felt good to be my American part…I did it.”
