Bonifay, Fla:
This afternoon, a search warrant was executed at a residence located on Tracy Street in Bonifay. The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office along with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), Bonifay Police Department and Bay County Sheriff’s Office participated in the investigation and search of the premises.
Intelligence gathered by law enforcement provided probable cause used in obtaining the search warrant. Forensic investigators from FDLE conducted on-site examinations of computer hardware and media storage devices. Approximately 50 to 60 photos and an additional 50 to 60 videos depicting the sexual performance of a child were located at the residence.
Further investigation led to the arrest of Jason A. Van Avery (W/M 21 yoa). Van Avery was currently on state probation for drug offenses earlier this year. Holmes County Sheriff’s Office investigators had obtained a search warrant in that investigation and located marijuana packaged for sale at the same location.
Van Avery has been charged with promotion of the sexual performance of a child and possession of child pornography. Additional charges are pending further forensic examination of the media storage devices at the FDLE Crime Laboratory in Tallahassee.
Sheriff Dennis Lee would like to thank all agencies who participated in the investigation adding, “Information sharing among law enforcement agencies is what led to an arrest in this case. Hard work and teamwork paid off in getting this individual off the streets and away from children before something terrible occurred.”
In my opinion FDLE and other law officals did not conduct the search correctly and placed these bogus charges on Mr. Van Avery due to the fact of house arrest, Mr. Joshua Wyatt who’s name the bill was under was on this computer countless times and is currently violating his State Probation, Seems to me since Mr. Van Avery was on house arrest the figures were pointed straight to him, and as an eye wittness the police stated that if they could not find the person that had been guilty of it , It would come to fall upon Mr. Van Avery, any and all other brodcasting should check there sources and correctly put that he is being charged of and not guilty of, Come on now isn’t it innocent untill proven guilty? ohh I forgot I live in Holmes County

Let me guess. You must be a friend of Mr. Van Avery. It doesn’t matter which county you live in, everyone is innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. His lawyer will tell him that. Let me ask you, FDLE_CAN_BITE_ME, Do you have children? Do you have a son or daughter that could have been in these pictures? Wouldn’t you want justice, no matter who the criminal was? Think about that and the people that have been VICTIMIZED by this crime and not just your seething hatred for the the FDLE. They might actually save your life one day.
