Holmes County, Fla:
On 11/14/09 while on routine proactive patrol in Holmes County Deputy Craig Sherrouse stopped a vehicle on SR 2 for traffic violations. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Michael Clay Childs, W/M, 37 YOA, from Slocomb Alabama. During the stop a search of Mr. Childs vehicle was conducted and located inside the vehicle was several small packages of methamphetamine along with a methamphetamine smoking pipe. Mr. Childs was placed under arrest and charged with possession of controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of narcotic equipment.
Sheriff Brown would like to commend his deputies for looking beyond the traffic stop and taking a pro active approach to eliminate illegal drugs in Holmes County.
