Bay County, Fla:

News 13’s Stephen Gunter interviewed Phoenix Racing owner James Finch the day after Finch’s car, driven by Brad Keselowski won the Sprint Cup Aaron’s 499 at Talladega Superspeedway.

“Well you know, I left the race track a little early and was going to try to beat the traffic, so I was watching it on TV at the airport, and then Brad (Keselowski) won the race and I had to talk a policeman in to taking me back over there against the traffic to get there for victory lane,” said Phoenix Racing owner James Finch.

Final lap, you don’t actually see the 09 car crossing the finish line, all the cameras are on the Edwards car flying through the air. Have you been able to see your own car cross the finish line, or have you just seen all the images of Edwards?

“They have some photos out on NASCAR.COM, and it shows the car under Edwards and Edwards falling on the 39 car and then getting into the stands,” Finch said.

After the race, they interviewed Dale Earnhardt, Jr., and he was just all smiles and laughing, and he just kept saying over and over, what a win for James Finch, that man is awesome.

“James Finch, as a car owner, that’s just amazing man, he’s an awesome dude,” said Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

“You know, Dale came down here a couple of years ago to visit me and wound up in the National Enquirer, you know (laughs). His dad was a good friend of mine, and Tony. I have raced with them all my life and I have known Dale since he was five or six years old,” stated Finch.

“My dream was always to win a cup race. So I did and that was really cool,” Finch said.
