Jackson County, Fla:
On Thursday, October 29, 2009 Investigators with the Jackson County Drug Task Force became involved in a vehicle pursuit on Prairie View Road near Greenwood, Florida.
The driver of the vehicle was Micheal Fizgerald Jackson, 31, of 5543 Prairie View Road. Micheal Jackson had been arrested on Saturday, October 24, 2009 by the Jackson County Drug Task Force in relation to an investigation involving the sale of crack cocaine in Jackson County. Jackson was given a $60,000 bond however he was able to post bond and get out of jail. Since his release, additional warrants were issued for Jackson’s arrest for Aggravated Assault and Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling. These charges stemmed from an incident that occurred on October 13, 2009 on Dickson Road in Jackson County.
Micheal Jackson was observed operating a vehicle on Prairie View Road. Having knowledge of the warrants the Drug Task Force attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle however Micheal Jackson fled attempting to elude officers. The pursuit continued for about 2 miles before Jackson turned into a residence located on Dickson Road. Jackson fled from the vehicle on foot and ran into a wooded area in the rear of the house. Officers were able to apprehend Micheal Jackson a short time later in the woods.
In addition to Aggravated Assault and Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling, Jackson is also charged five separate counts of Sale of a Controlled Substance, Crack Cocaine, and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, Willful Wanton Reckless Driving, Aggravated Fleeing and Attempting to Elude a Law Enforcement Officer, and Resisting Arrest Without Violence.
Micheal Fizgerald Jackson was transported to and housed in the Jackson County Jail to await first appearance on his charges. Jackson is being held in the Jackson County Jail with no bond.
Also on Thursday, October 29, 2009, in an unrelated incident, Fredrick Holton, of Maybell Lane near Greenwood, Florida was also arrested. Holton has been the subject of an ongoing long-term investigation into the sale of cocaine and marijuana in Jackson County. Holton was booked into the Jackson County Jail charged with five counts of Sale of a Controlled Substance.
In another incident, investigators with the Jackson County Drug Task Force arrested Daniel Leal of Donaldsonville, GA. Unbeknown to Leal he had arranged a drug transaction with an investigator posing as the drug dealer. Leal traveled to the intersection of Hwy 71 and Basswood Road to purchase Crack Cocaine. Investigators were there to meet with Leal and placed him under arrest for Attempted Purchase of Crack Cocaine. Leal was also found to be in possession of a pipe used to smoke crack cocaine and was additionally charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Leal was transported to the Jackson County Jail and housed there to await first appearance on his charges.
