Jackson County, Fla:
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that sent three people to the hospital.
FHP says the incident happened around 5:30 p.m. Friday on County Road 167, north of N. Oaks Drive in Jackson County.
Authorities say Harmon Perkins, 40, of Bascom was driving at a high rate of speed in the southbound lane when the right tires of his Nissan pickup truck ran off the road. FHP says Perkins tried to get back onto the road but overcorrected and lost control.
Troopers say Perkins’ truck started spinning and crossed into the northbound lane into the path of an Isuzu pickup driven by Malone resident William Creamer, 54. The right side of Perkins’ truck hit the front of Creamer’s truck.
Perkins was taken to Jackson Hospital and later transferred to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital with critical injuries. Creamer and his passenger, 46 year-old Cynthia Smith of Marianna, both sustained serious injuries and were taken to Jackson Hospital.
Authorities say charges are pending after completion of investigation.
