On Friday, January 29, 2010, Investigators with the Jackson County Drug Task Force conducted an investigation into the illegal purchase of pseudoephedrine cold medication. During the coarse of the investigation a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle on Highway 90 east of Marianna, Florida. The occupants of the vehicle were the subjects of an investigation into the purchase of items used to manufacture Methamphetamine. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Richard Shane Anderson of Simsville Road in Marianna and the passenger as Naneita Millwood of Estech Drive in Cottondale. During the coarse of the investigation it was determined that Anderson and Millwood had traveled to multiple stores in the Marianna area and purchased multiple items to be used in the manufacture of Methamphetamine. A narcotics detection K-9 alerted to the odor of narcotics emitting from the vehicle that had been operated by Anderson and Millwood. During a search of that vehicle a quantity of Methamphetamine and marijuana was located. Also located in the vehicle were multiple boxes of pseudoephedrine cold medication, multiple packages of lithium batteries, and acid. Drug paraphernalia utilized to ingest narcotics and scales were also located. The driver, Anderson, was also found to be operating the vehicle without a valid driver’s license
Richard Shane Anderson was placed under arrest for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Listed Chemicals, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Driving While License Suspended/Revoked. Anderson was transported and housed in the Jackson County Jail to await first appearance on his charges.
Naneita Millwood was also placed under arrest for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Listed Chemicals and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Millwood was also transported and housed in the Jackson County Jail to await first appearance on her charges.
The Jackson County Drug Task Force is the combined effort of the Cottondale Police Department, Graceville Police Department, Marianna Police Department, Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
