On October 12, 2008 around 4:10am the Walton County Sheriff’s Office and Walton County Fire and Rescue responded to a stabbing call from the residence at 130 Earl Godwin Road in Freeport. A 17 year old female had been stabbed several times. She was transported by EMS to a local hospital. Deputies were able to find out that the stabbing actually took place on the side of the road of County Road 83A west and back to the north of Earl Godwin Road, between Goodwin Creek Road and Short Cut Road.
The altercation that occurred on the side of the road was between the 17 year old female juvenile and a 16 year old female juvenile. The 16 year old was detained and arrested at a residence on Loop Circle located off of County Road 83A west in Freeport. Evelyn Marie Spillman, age 16 of Freeport Florida was charged with one (1) count of Aggravated Battery with a deadly weapon. She was booked at the Walton County Jail Facility and then transported to Department of Juvenile Justice in Okaloosa County.
At this time the case is still under investigation and additional charges could be pending.
