Bay County Sheriff Frank McKeithen announced today that Kenneth Edward Godat has been taken into custody in Barry County, Missouri. Godat had been incarcerated in the Bay County Jail in July of 2009 when he absconded from a Jail work crew while out working in the area of Minnesota Avenue and Baldwin Road.
Godat was taken into custody on a warrant for Parole Violation out of Missouri last evening about 8 pm. Godat will be returned to the Missouri Department of Corrections to finish his four year sentence for felony bad checks and felony fleeing and eluding. When he has completed his sentence he will be returned to the state of Florida to serve out the remainder of his sentence in Bay County for two charges of Grand Theft.
