Area children are getting creative to help raise money for the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.
Some youngsters and their mentors came to the Art Coop in downtown Panama City Saturday morning to tap into their inner artist.
The art the kids created, along with donated works from local artists, will be auctioned off to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida.
The group’s goal is to provide positive role models for children.
The kids came up with own ideas and then created the drawings on canvas, with some help from their mentors.
“I am painting a summer tree with lots of colors of bark and some roots, and it’s kind of in the summer time,” says participant Elisia Sinnett.
The art will be auctioned at the annual Corks ‘N Canvases event on November 21 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Boatyard in Panama City Beach. For tickets, call 763-5437.
