Bay County, Fla:

Kids all over Bay County are looking forward to Trick or Treating, and with forecasts calling for good weather, officials are expecting this to be a busier holiday than usual.  Because Halloween falls on a Friday this year several law enforcement agencies are expecting to step up patrols to ensure not only Trick or Treaters safety but also adults out for a good time.

News 13 is on your side with some tips on how to keep everyone safe this weekend.  First, when trick or treating after dark place reflective tape on your children and have them carry a flashlight.  Make sure kids wear comfortable shoes so that they don’t trip in the streets.  Parents should not let kids wear floor length costumes or masks that impair their vision.  Remind your kids to walk not run from house to house and not to go into a strangers home to accept candy.  If your child is young, attach names and addresses inside costumes. Throw away homemade or unwrapped candy and if you see anything suspicious call authorities.

The Panama City Police Department is particularly concerned with Halloween Safety even producing Public Service Announcements to encourage good practices.
