Miramar Beach, FL (December 9, 2009) – A man found slumped over the steering wheel of his vehicle in the parking lot of a South Walton County motel leads to his arrest on several drug charges. On the night of December Third, Walton County Sheriff’s Office Deputies’ responded to the call of Gregory Ismert inside his gold jeep parked in a handicapped parking space with the vehicle running.
The 26-year-old Miramar Beach man told authorities that he had just worked the night shift, and that he was on prescription medication. Ismert gave permission to Deputies to look inside a bag in his vehicle where they found different pill bottles which contained medications Xanax and Klonapin, which he did not have a prescription for.
During the course of the investigation, Ismert gave Sheriff’s officials permission to search his apartment. That’s where they found Marijuana, smoking devices, and a grinder with white powder residue. They also found additional pills which were later identified as Tramadol.
The suspect was transported to the Walton County Jail and faces a host of narcotic related charges. They include possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession of a harmful new legend drug without a prescription, marijuana possession of not more than 20 grams, and possession of narcotic equipment. Ismert has been released from jail under a five-thousand dollar bond.
