Bay County, Fla:

Six people are facing charges in connection with the shooting death of a Fountain man.

Vishnookumar Patel, owner of Sylvia’s Grocery, was shot and killed Thursday at his store in Fountain.  The alleged killer and accomplice had their first appearance in court Saturday.

Judge John O’Brien ordered Nicholas Lee held without bond.  He’s charged with an open count of murder, armed robbery with a firearm and possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana.

Authorities say Lee was accompanied by Amy Cucco, who is also being held without bond.  She’s charged with an open count of murder and principle to an armed robbery.

Four others arrested in connection with the case also made their first court appearances.  Each have bonds set at over $1,000.  All are set to appear in court again in next month.

Family and friends will gather for a candle light service in honor of Vish Patel at Sylvia’s Grocery.  The vigil begins at six Sunday night. The service is open to the public.

I was at Vish Patel’s candlelight vigil tonight and knew that he had touched alot of people, but the outpouring of love from the people that showed up, not only for him, but his family was very touching. He was a great man and will be missed very much.Anytime you walked in to his store,he always spoke to you.Even if he had not seen you in awhile, he always remembered a face, even if he only saw it once. Our thoughts and prayers are,of course, with his family, but also to each and every person that Vish touched in this community.

I hope they get the maximum! Vish was a very sweet person. He will be missed. Nick Lee and Amy should get a life sentence! It is only fair...a life for a life!

I’m actually shocked that Judge O’Brien ordered Lee held without bail.  He usually has a history of being soft on crime.  Bay County should be grateful he is leaving office.  It will make the County a safer place.
