National Merit Scholarship Finalists Announced

Bay District high school students have advanced to Finalist status in the National Merit Scholarship Program for 2010 by demonstrating through distinguished performance their high potential for future academic accomplishment.  They are among some 15,000 Finalists who are in competition for some 8,200 Merit Scholarships.

From A. Crawford Mosley High School, four MAPPS seniors have advanced to Finalist status.
  Anna Bauer, daughter of Kathy and Steven Bauer
  Paul Davis, son of Catherine and Brian Davis
  Alexa Evans, daughter of Vonda and Preston Gainer
  Sandra Stuhr, daughter of Hyon Mi and William Stuhr

From Rutherford High School, three International Baccalaureate seniors have advanced to Finalist status.
William Adkins, son of Tiffney and William Adkins
Christina Kettering, daughter of Regina and David Kettering
Sullivan Madewell, son of Elodie Hebert and Michael Madewell.

From Bay High School, a National Merit Scholarship Letter of Commendation is awarded to Amilea Borel for outstanding performance on the PSAT in 2008.

In addition, A. Crawford Mosley High School MAPPS senior Alexa L. Evans is now a Finalist in the National Achievement Scholarship Program. As a Finalist, she is one of approximately 1280 students who are being considered for National Achievement Scholarships to be offered to outstanding Black American students in 2010. She is the daughter of Vonda and Preston Gainer.
