A four-year-old boy nearly drowned Friday afternoon in an apartment complex pool.

The Bay County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 1:45 p.m. from the Cabana West Apartments on Panama City Beach.

Assistant Manager Tara Thomas says two residents pulled the boy from the pool. Gary Griffith rescued him from the water. Once he was out of the pool a former emergency worker, John Plumadore, performed CPR on the child until EMS arrived.  Mr. Plumadore’s daughter who is a lifeguard at Shipwreck also assisted in the rescue.

Thomas and the Bay County Sheriff’s Office say it was because of their efforts the child was saved.

The young boy was taken to Gulf Coast Medical Center. His name and condition are unknown at this time.

I’m so sorry to hear this. Thank you for your service and kindness, it was much appreciated. In addition to my gratitude, I would like to share with you the Naperville Ribfest 2009. If you think something like Taste of Chicago is too stuffy and pretentious, then you can take yourself down to the Naperville Ribfest 2009. Naperville Ribfest 2009 is this years’ installment of the event that celebrates one of the only universal meats used in barbecuing, which is ribs, and they have over 17 vendors vying for top prize. Naperville is just outside of Chicago, which is far outside the barbecue belt, which is basically from Texas to North Carolina, and might include Kansas City, depending on who you talk to. (Sauce vs. rub is a heated debate.) It might be worth some instant cash loans to get to Naperville Ribfest 2009.
