According to officials at the Panama City-Bay County International, there are no delays coming into or heading out of the airport.
Airline officials will await information from the individual carriers before making a determination as to whether to close the airport. If the airport is closed, police and fire officials will be on site 24 hours a day.
Travellers are encouraged to contact their individual airline carriers for questions about travel plans.

Northwest Florida Regional Airport Update
Due to Tropical Storm Ida, some scheduled flight activity from the Northwest Florida Regional Airport (VPS) has been cancelled. The following airlines have provided cancellation information as of 2:00pm:
American Airlines (1-800-433-7300)—#3354 from DFW, #3515 to DFW, #2824 to DFW, #3473 from DFW
Delta Airlines (1-800-221-1212)—#1546 from ATL, #4965 to ATL, #5214 to ATL, #5522 to ATL
Continental (1-800-525-0280)—#2323 from IAH, #2337 to IAH
US Airways (1-800-428-4322)—#2289 from CLT, #2290 to CLT
Customers are encouraged to call the airlines directly at the 1-800 reservations numbers listed for the latest status of their flights and rebooking information. The Northwest Florida Regional Airport terminal will remain open but is not a public shelter. Airline personnel will not be present at the ticket counters after the last scheduled flight departs. Ida is downgraded to a topical storm, Okaloosa County offices will close today at 2:00 p.m. and remain closed on Tuesday, Nov. 10. Essential personnel are to contact their managers for further direction. The Emergency Operations Center will remain partially activated to monitor the storm, and if you need to report a problem, call the Citizens Information Line at 311 within the county, or 850-423-4894.
