A new poll shows Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has regained the lead in Florida over Republican John McCain.
Over the past three weeks in Florida, Obama has gone from seven points behind McCain to eight points ahead in the current poll from Quinnipiac University in Connecticut.
The poll finds Obama leads McCain 51 to 43 percent.
Poll spokesman Peter Brown says it looks as though Florida voters lost their faith in McCain over the past 20 days. He says it’s hard to find a modern presidential race that has swung so dramatically this late in the campaign.
Brown says the survey indicates independent voters are moving in force for Obama. Three weeks ago, McCain led by seven points among Florida independents. Now Obama is up 12 points among those voters.
The survey was taken following the candidates’ debate last Friday night. It finds Obama also increased his lead in the swing states Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Governor Charlie Crist, who boosted McCain’s campaign during the primary season with his endorsement, says it’s still early.
Florida voters rank the economy as the most important issue in the election, according to the poll. It indicates voters trust Obama more than McCain on the economy by a 53 to 39 percent margin.

Gator… You are correct. Most news is nearly as corrupt as the politicians. I recieved one call asking who I would vote for and it damn sure IS NOT a half breed muslim. Someone simply dropped the (e) off the end. Replace the (e) and you have Mu SLIME. Definitely SLIME. Exactly what Obama is, half breed slime.
