Jackson County, Fla:
On July 27, 2010 at approximately 11:43am the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a reckless driving vehicle and ATV on Bumpnose Road just north of Marianna.
Units responded to the scene along with the Sheriff’s Office air unit and located the vehicle and ATV on Missouri Road traveling toward Hwy 73 north. The vehicle and ATV then attempted to elude officers by traveling into the woods in the area and then the suspects abandoned the vehicles and fled on foot.
Tracking dogs from Jackson Correctional Institution, and Appalachie Correctional institution came to assist in the search. A short time later it was discovered that the vehicle one suspect was on was recently stolen from the Marianna area, and the recovered ATV is a believed to be stolen as well.
At approximately 12:53pm W/M David Travis Dicken was located and arrested in a wooded area south of Missouri Road. The search continued for the second subject believed to be W/M Larry Leitzel JR until efforts were called off around 5:00pm. Leitzel is being sought for questioning in this incident.
David Dickens was booked into the Jackson County Correctional facility charged with Grand Theft. This search was a coordinated effort of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the Marianna Police Department, the Florida Highway Patrol, and the Department of Corrections.
